Mohamed Salah wins Premier League Fans’ Player of the Year award

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been crowned the winner of Reach Sport’s inaugural Premier League Fans’ Player of the Year award.

The award was voted for by supporters from across the league and votes have been counted over the last three weeks. Salah saw off fierce competition to claim the award as he came out ahead of the likes of Jack Grealish, Kevin de Bruyne, and Marcus Rashford.

The 28-year-old was inspirational as Jurgen Klopp’s side ended a three-decade wait for the top domestic prize, and the Reds have been picking up awards for that achievement left right and centre ever since.

The Egyptian is the current top scorer in the Premier League after he came off the bench to add two to his tally in the 7-0 drubbing of Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Since arriving at Anfield from Roma in 2017, the winger has already claimed back-to-back Golden Boot awards to add to a host of team honours, as well as being crowned the ‘Egyptian King’ by adoring Kopites.

Despite all the goals, assists, awards and trophies, Salah is still criminally underrated in some circles – although not on Merseyside.

The measure of almost all impressive statistics in the Premier League currently come with the caveat of ‘other than Salah‘, a mark of the standards he has set.
