Neil Warnock claims Wilfried Zaha would be a ‘great fit’ at Liverpool

Former Premier League manager Neil Warnock has claimed Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha is a ‘great fit’ for Liverpool

The 29-year-old has been a top performer for a number of seasons at Selhurst Park and continues to produce.

Following a move to Manchester United as a youngster, the Ivory Coast international has been perennially linked with another big switch.

Speaking on talkSPORT (March 14 11.50am), Warnock suggested that the skilful ace is perfectly suited to the Reds.

His ability is second to none, unbelievable. Whilst Palace have him in their squad, they think they’re a Premier League club – he’s been the one world-class player on that side. As a manager playing against him, when he gets the ball, you’re always frightened. I think he would’ve been a great fit for Liverpool. Look at the lad they’ve just signed (Luis Diaz), they’re very similar.

So far this season Zaha has scored nine times and provided one assist in 23 league outings.

An interesting one.

Whilst there can be little denying Zaha’s ability, all too often the £36million valued star has flattered to deceive on the biggest stage.

Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp are competing on those big stages time and time again, therefore it’s perhaps little surprise that the club would look instead to the likes of Diaz.

When all is said and done Zaha, for all of his talents, may well look back on a career and wonder what might’ve been – including a possible missed Liverpool switch.
