Liverpool put in a fine performance yesterday afternoon as they brushed aside a helpless Bournemouth at the Vitality stadium.
Summer signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain spoke about playmaker Philippe Coutinho’s importance to the side after another brilliant showing from the Brazilian.
Coutinho scored and created one whilst also coming close with an early free-kick as he caused the hosts defence all kind of problems on a dominant day for the reds on the road.
Chamberlain highlighted the number 10’s value to the side.
Phil’s a Liverpool player right now and he’s doing really well for us. He’s been top quality from the start and every time he gets on the pitch he does his all for the club. That’s the most important thing right now [and] it’s not fair to ask those kind of questions I don’t think. He gives us his all every game and that’s all we can ask from him.
Coutinho was the subject of a summer move to Barcelona last summer but the reds remained firm and kept the player on Merseyside.
He has been back at his best of late and really looks like he’s enjoying his football once again as he plays alongside Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.
Coutinho will prove to be a key player for Reds if they are to sustain their push to remain in the race to qualify for the Champions League whilst hoping to go far in this seasons edition of the competition.
