Pirlo critical of Origi despite Champions League final goal

Sky Italia pundit and Juventus legend Andrea Pirlo has critics Divock Origi’s Champions League final performance despite the Belgian scoring Liverpool’s second goal in the historic 2-0 win over Tottenham.

Origi replaced a subdued Roberto Firmino with little over 30 minutes remaining in Madrid, in what was a cagey final, and the striker produced a fine finish to clinch victory for Liverpool on a memorable night for the Reds.

However, Pirlo was less than impressed by Origi’s performance and criticised the Belgian’s attitude, football365 report via Sky Italia.

Origi? He came in badly, if he hadn’t have scored, he would have been beaten. His was not a Champions League final attitude, I really didn’t like it.

The Italian also laid into Liverpool’s opponents Spurs, and suggested a number of their key men did not turn up, before claiming that the Reds’ fans made the difference in Madrid.

The match was also won by these fans, they made a difference. Tottenham had no personality, people like Alli and Eriksen who didn’t want the ball. There was little quality in midfield. Liverpool deserved the victory for the season they have had but also for these supporters.
