PSG are said to be monitoring the situation of Liverpool centre-back Joel Matip, according to football publication Kick442.
Thiago Silva has announced that he will be leaving the French club after eight years and manager Thomas Tuchel has now been tasked with replacing the Brazilian.
This rumour could come as quite the surprising one to many, especially with Dejan Lovren recently departing Liverpool for Zenit St Petersburg, leaving Matip as one of The Reds’ three senior centre-backs.
The 28-year-old has consistently performed at a very high level for Liverpool but has seen himself fall to third-choice behind the excellent duo of Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez.

It is surprising to see this transfer rumour emerge right now, with Matip seemingly still a crucial part of Liverpool’s current squad.
With respect to Matip’s footballing ability, it’s not hard to see why any of Europe’s top clubs would want him in their side, as he has proved what he’s capable of at the highest level.
If Jurgen Klopp brings in another centre-back or even two for that matter, then this potential move could pick up some more momentum, with first-team football likely to be more of a possibility at PSG.
However, for the time being, the former Cameroon international will almost certainly be in Klopp’s plans moving forward.
