Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is keen to sign Liverpool midfielder Pedro Chirivella on a free transfer this summer, according to journalist Duncan Castles.
Earlier this week, it was reported that the Spaniard had agreed terms to sign for Ligue 1 side Nantes, but speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, Castles said that there are still some other clubs hoping to sign the 22-year-old, one of whom is Rangers.
Gerrard knows Chirivella well both from his time coaching at Liverpool’s academy and his time as a Reds’ player, as the Spaniard moved to Anfield in 2013, two years before Gerrard left to join LA Galaxy.

It looks almost-certain that Chirivella will be leaving Liverpool this summer when his contract expires, the only thing that needs clearing up is the club he will decide to join.
Chirivella impressed during his outings for the Reds this season, playing well in the domestic cup games for which he was selected.
Whether it be Nantes, Rangers or any other club, Chirivella certainly has the talent to succeed, wherever he decides to go.
