QPR striker, Charlie Austin, is the latest man that has been rumoured to be on Brendan Rodgers’ wish-list.
The London Evening Standard claim that QPR are already preparing for life without their talisman, following their relegation to the Championship.
QPR, though, haven’t given up completely on keeping Austin at Loftus Road.
They wish to keep the highly-rated striker to help their bid of going straight back up to the top flight. Austin’s deal expires at the end of next season and Rangers are insistent that they won’t sell him for anything less than they value him for – which is £15m.
Charlie Austin, individually, had a fantastic season in his debut Premier League campaign. The 25 year-old scored an impressive 18 goals – a record that has sparked interest from elsewhere, with Newcastle, Southampton and Crystal Palace all said to be interested too.
QPR are also interested in Liverpool’s 33 year-old striker, Rickie Lambert.
The striker is expected to leave Anfield this summer, after failing to impress and adapt to the Reds’ style of play in his debut season.
The London Evening Standard state that Chris Ramsey is considering a bid for Lambert.
