Reds meet release clause of Vietto

According to reports in AS, Liverpool are the third team to meet Luciano Vietto’s release clause.

With Atletico Madrid and Arsenal also offering the €20m it would take to lure the Argentine away from El Madrigal, the ball is now in the court of the 21-year-old who can opt for either English club, Atletico or extending his current deal with Villareal.

Villareal are determined to not lose their star man, and continue to negotiate with the players agent over a new contract that would see a higher release clause put in place.

Vietto has enjoyed a hugely impressive season in yellow, scoring 20 goals in 48 appearances. However, the forward failed to score in his last 8 league appearances, which could suggest his mind is already elsewhere.

Ateltico is reportedly his favoured option after being quoted as claiming that them meeting the release clause would be good for all parties.
