With Liverpool having jumped ahead of the queue over close rivals Manchester United for the signing of promising French Under-19 star Angelo Fulgini, Get French Football News have reported that the player has joined Valenciennes permanently.
The defender was linked with a move to Anfield by the same French source this week, as the club looked to offer him a trial with a view to a permanent signature.
Fulgini, who originally hails from the Ivory Coast, could have been the next in a line of young players to go on trial at Liverpool in recent months, in what seems like a conscious effort by the Merseyside club to steal a march by signing promising academy players early.
Manchester United had been keeping a close eye on the defender, whilst rumour has it that Barcelona and AC Milan were also keeping tabs on Fulgini.
The teenager, however, will not go to the trial at Liverpool for now, unless Valenciennes allow him to attend.
