Newly appointed Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson has said that the club’s latest arrivals are all bedding into the Reds’ setup.
The Merseysiders, who are currently on a pre-season tour which stops in Thailand, Australia, Malaysia and Finland, are looking to hit the ground running next term after a dismal start to last season’s campaign put pay to their Champions League hopes.
The signs were encouraging on Tuesday as the side romped to a 4-0 victory over a Thai Premier League XI.
Brendan Rodgers and the club hierarchy have brought in six first team players this summer; Adam Bogdan, Joe Gomez, Nathaniel Clyne, James Milner, Danny Ings and Roberto Firmino. Whilst the latter is still on holiday following his Copa America exploits, the other five all played a part in the win in Bangkok.
Speaking to the Liverpool FC Official Website, Henderson said:
“I think everybody’s settled in really well, we’ve got a good group of players but also people as well. Everybody’s helping each other settle in and I think these two weeks it’s important to get everyone together away and do a little bit of bonding and then when we get back we’ll be flying.”
The team play in Australia on Friday as they take on A League outfit Brisbane Roar, before completing their time down under when they play Adelaide United on Monday.
