Renato Sanches is not on Liverpool’s radar

Contrary to what has been reported recently, it appears that Renato Sanches is not seen as a target for the Reds, as reported by Melissa Reddy of Goal.

Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti has said that he is happy to let the 20-year-old midfielder leave the club after he failed to impress during his first season at the German champions.

Sanches joined Bayern from Benfica for £31.5m last summer and was named ‘Young Player of the Tournament’ for the 2016 European Championships, which he won with Portugal.

Touted as one of the most promising players in world football, Sanches has also received interest from the likes of big-spenders AC Milan as well as Chelsea.

Bayern’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic admitted that Sanches’ absence from their squad to face Werder Bremen was a request from the player, who wanted more time consider his future.

There is still every possibility that Liverpool could be in for a move for Sanches, with a loan move seeming more likely than anything. With the club also in talks with Monaco for Thomas Lemar, it would seem that the club are likely to put their efforts into that deal instead.
