Roma want Dejan Lovren to be included as part of any deal that would see Liverpool sign Nicolo Zaniolo, according to a report from Italian outlet Il Sussidiario.
Liverpool are apparently keen to sign the 20-year-old Italian international this summer, with Roma asking for a reported £53m.
Given the current financial climate, the Reds could be reluctant to spend such an amount on the midfielder but they could have a way to reduce the financial outlay that would be needed to sign the attacking midfielder.
Il Sussidiario claim that Roma are still very much interested in signing Lovren and a such, a player-plus-cash deal is something that they will ask for if the Reds do make an official move for Zaniolo.

If Lovren is set to leave Liverpool this summer, then using him in any deal to sign Zaniolo could make sense.
The Croatian star looks to be Jurgen Klopp’s fourth-choice centre-back and could very well want a transfer, but Liverpool will still need to replace him.
If the Reds are able to find a replacement for Lovren, and if they have the resources to do a deal for Zaniolo too, then a swap deal could be a good option.
However, finding a player to come in and be a fourth-choice centre-back could be difficult, unless they go for a cheaper veteran player, similar to when they signed Ragnar Klavan to provide squad depth in the past.
