Rumour – Reds make Pedro contact

Reports in Spain are saying that Liverpool have contacted the agent of three-time Champions League and World Cup winner Pedro.

The Barcelona forward only recently signed a new deal at the club, which saw him stay at the Catalan giants till 2019.

The 27-year old can play left or right side of the attacking positions and according to Transfer Markt, he is worth £14million.

It could be likely that the attacker will make the move away as it is unlikely that he will feature in Luis Enrique’s squad next season as he is competing with the trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez to get into the squad, despite signing a new contract.

Last season, Pedro was apart of Barcelona’s La Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League winning side. In the league, he played 35 times but only managed to play a full 90 minutes eight times (22.9%), he was subbed on a staggering 20 times (57.1%)

The report in the newspaper SPORT says that PSG are the front-runners for the signing of Pedro with Brendan Rodgers’ side and Arsenal joining in the race to sign him.

Furthermore in the report, they went on to say that they believe Arsenal are willing to pay more than Liverpool.

SPORT reported that Arsenal are now interested in the winger after their pursuit of Atlético Madrid Arda Turan failed to result in the signature of the Turkish international.

If Liverpool were to complete the signing of Pedro, he would have the compete with Lazar Markovic, Raheem Sterling, Jordon Ibe and possibly Adam Lallana and Roberto Firmino who both can play right attacking midfield and left attacking midfield respectively.

So far this transfer window, Brendan Rodgers has forked out £44million on six new signings, including Roberto Firmino, Nathaniel Clyne, James Milner and Danny Ings.
