Clubs bidding for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic have been dealt a blow after his agent has announced he will be staying at the Italian club for another season.
The Serb has attracted a lot of interest during his two years in Serie A, making 73 appearances and netting 10 times. The 22 year-old has been linked with Liverpool and Chelsea, with representative Mateja Kezman claiming he has received a few formal offers for his client.
I’ve received huge bids, over €50 million in the past few weeks”, he told news outlet Calciomercato.
“As we agreed at the start of Sergej’s contract though, he’s not for sale this summer.”
Kezman went on to say the former Genk man is willing to stay for another season and try to help Lazio into a Champions League spot.
However, he did hint that he may be open to a move next year:
“After that, you can never 100 per cent know what will happen in life…”
Milinkovic-Savic signed a new 5-year contract with the Biancazzurri in April.
