TalkSPORT host Simon Jordan has slammed the idea that Paris Saint-Germain are an elite club, on the same level as the likes of Liverpool.
This comes as the Parisian side get set to face Premier League leaders Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.
Unsurprisingly much of the talk in the build-up has surrounded the two clubs standing in the elite circles, as two Middle Eastern billionaire owned entities.
However, former Crystal Palace owner Jordan has put pay to the suggestion PSG can uphold itself among the worlds elite.
If we’re talking about biggest clubs, elite clubs, then one Barcelona, two Real Madrid, three Manchester United, four Bayern Munich, or the other way around, and five Liverpool. There’s your top five. Where do PSG feature? They’re ninth in the Forbes list this year behind Arsenal. I call them a Faberge egg because they’re beautiful on the outside, but they have no heart in the middle of it.
Jordan went on to describe PSG as an ‘entirely manufactured club with no history’ and ‘not in the ballpark of being an elite football club’, despite protestations from managers and fans.

Given the respective histories and fanbases of the clubs involved, it’s hard to disagree.
Liverpool have a rich, trophy-laden history, including six European cups.
Neither PSG nor Manchester City have won a single elite European competition between them and a mere two decades ago both clubs were frankly lightyears away from even the semi-final stage.
