Spurs star Kane ‘good and ready’ for Liverpool clash

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane feels ‘good and ready’ to take part in his side’s Champions League final clash against Liverpool on Saturday.

The forward addressed the media as he looked ahead to Spurs’ fixture against the Reds in Madrid and responded to questions regarding his fitness for the game.

Kane has not played since 9 April, when he was forced to come off in Tottenham’s Champions League quarter-final first-leg win over Manchester City at home.

He has since been working his way back to fitness after sustaining yet more damage to his left ankle, but the England international is optimistic about his chances of featuring against Liverpool.

As quoted by The Independent, Kane spoke about his condition and said:

I feel good. I started to feel my way back with the team at the end of last week. There have been no problems so far.

For me, this week now is about getting the fitness as high as possible. Then it’s down to the manager. The manager will assess it and decide whether I’m ready to go or not. But so far, I feel good and ready.

I did a lot of work on my own to get me into a good place to go back with the team. Since I’ve been with them, I’ve been full training, doing everything.

I’m at a place now where I’m ready to go for any game. But again, it’s down to the manager.

Liverpool will be desperate to round off an impressive season by clinching the most illustrious honour in European football, softening the blow of their failure to pip Manchester City to the Premier League title.
