Raheem Sterling denies his desired move away from Liverpool isn’t fueled by money but according to The Telegraph, if his proposed £50million move to Manchester City is made a reality, he’ll stand to gain £4m from his agent’s fee alone.
Sterling said in his infamous interview with the BBC before Liverpool played Arsenal in April that he didn’t want to be seen as a “money grabbing 20-year-old” but these rumours haven’t helped his case.
Speaking of denials, Liverpool has denied that the 20-year-old is for sale, but that could all be an act to drive up his price.
Manchester City are rumoured to return with a third bid in an attempt to give Liverpool 50 million reasons why to sell their want-away forward.
The Reds have purchased Roberto Firmino from Hoffenheim, and the Brazilian plays in a similar position to Liverpool, but the club hierarchy have insisted that their business this summer has been done without the potential sale of Sterling in mind.
