Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard is set to take charge of Liverpool’s U18s according to the Times‘ correspondent Paul Joyce.
Gerrard was a former Anfield icon whose illustrious career at the Reds spanned over 17 years, before leaving for LA Galaxy at the end of the 2014/15 season. He made his debut for the club in November 1998.
In January, it was announced that the local legend would return to Liverpool in a youth coaching capacity as of February, following his decision to retire from club football in November.

Today, it was confirmed by trusted journalist Paul Joyce that the Liverpudlian would be taking on management of the U18s side for the first time.
It was reported that Jurgen Klopp and academy director Alex Inglethorpe thought it would be an important step in Gerard’s development as a coach.
The pair were also impressed by Gerrard’s work ethic and attitude since rejoining club in a floating role at the academy, according to the Times.
It’s also been envisioned that it could bring responsibility and also the experience of overseeing the fortunes of a dedicated team in the Under-18 Premier League.
