Steven Gerrard is set to agree to become the Rangers manager on a three-year deal, according to the Belfast Telegraph.
Gerrard has been managing Liverpool’s under 18 side this season, as well as being a pundit on BT Sport.
It was on BT’s Champions League coverage last night where he confirmed he was in talks to take charge at the Ibrox club, saying:
I’ve held positive talks with them. I’m busy now for a couple of days but I will pick it up on Thursday and we’ll see if we can progress it.
The deal is expected to be confirmed when Gerrard returns from Italy after working on tonight’s Liverpool game at Roma.

The ex-England captain will be replacing Graham Murty, who was relieved of his duties yesterday following a 5-0 loss against rivals Celtic, one that saw the Hoops win the league for the seventh consecutive year.
The 37-year-old will be tasked with stopping the dominance of Celtic, who haven’t faced much competition in any of their title wins.
