The two words that Jordan Henderson yelled after getting injured against Everton perfectly sum up Liverpool’s disastrous season to date.
Back in September, the Reds looked primed to win back-to-back Premier League titles, but injuries have ravaged the squad, meaning performances and results have suffered.
Last weekend, Henderson injured his groin in the 2-0 defeat at home to Everton, going down after a surging run from centre-back.
According to The Athletic, the Liverpool captain screamed “you’re joking” after he went down, with the 30-year-old now set for a long period on the sidelines.

Henderson’s comments really are a summary of how anyone associated with the Reds must feel this season.
Without bias taking over too much, it feels as though everything is going against the champions, whether it be injuries, bizarre VAR calls and things simply not falling for them in front of goal.
It is becoming a campaign that Liverpool simply have to suck up and get on with, almost accepting that it is unlikely to end in positive fashion.
There is an increasing feeling that August cannot come soon enough, when key men are available again and fans are back inside Anfield.
