Ranking Liverpool’s top 5 players in the first half of the 2020/21 season

Liverpool have officially reached the midway point of their Premier League title defence, having played 19 games this season.

In truth, things haven’t panned out the way many hoped it would, with the Reds currently sitting fourth in the table.

After a bright start to the campaign, a mixture of injuries, VAR robberies and poor form against weaker sides have seen far too many points dropped. Liverpool haven’t won in any of their last five league games, including Thursday’s shock 1-0 defeat at the hands of Burnley at Anfield.

The Reds must regroup quickly or risk completely falling out of the title race, and possibly even the top four battle if they’re not careful.

That’s not to say that some players haven’t performed excellently, however, with a few retaining their supreme level from last season and dragging their teammates through matches at times.

Here’s our selection of Liverpool’s top five players from the 2020/21 season so far…
