Liverpool Player Ratings: Burnley (H)

One of the few teams to take points off Liverpool during their long unbeaten Anfield run, Burnley, became the first team to get the better of the Reds on home soil in the Premier League at the 69th time of asking.

What has quickly become a dreadful turn of the year for Jurgen Klopp‘s side had the icing put on a particularly unappetising cake on Thursday when Ashley Barnes’ 83rd-minute penalty handed the visitors a 1-0 victory on Merseyside.

Having enjoyed the vast majority of possession throughout the evening, the lacklustre hosts were unable to make anything count as countless crosses were hoisted into the Burnley box, all to no avail.

Divock Origi was afforded a rare start and was gifted the best chance of the match for Liverpool, only to hit the crossbar when one-on-one with Nick Pope.
