Liverpool came from behind to secure a 2-1 win against Brentford in what turned out to be a memorable away day for Andoni Iraola.
Keith Andrews’s side took the lead through Keane Lewis-Potter, who thundered home a close-range header after a fantastic cross from Michael Kayode.
Brentford, however, were reduced to ten men after Vitaly Janelt was sent off, after which the Reds turned the tide in their favour through goals from Victor Munoz and Alexander Isak.
And Rio Ngumoha has singled out Isak for special praise, who marked his return to the team with another crucial goal.
Rio Ngumoha hails Liverpool striker Alexander Isak
“Results can’t always go your way,” said Ngumoha via the Liverpool Echo.
“The team might not be playing well but you can get that one chance. Like Alex today, he doesn’t always have to be involved because when he gets that one chance, he can score.
“That’s elite strikers for you. Some of the best around don’t have to be involved throughout the whole game because they can just smell chances. Alex is top, so it was no surprise!”
Isak missed a few games for Liverpool after the international break, picking up an injury with Sweden.
However, he scored his fourth Premier League goal of the season, which once again ended up being the winner for the Reds.
Long may his goalscoring run continue!
