‘Very well’ – Andoni Iraola confirms massive double Liverpool injury boost

Liverpool have a strong squad but Andoni Iraola has already had to deal with his fair share of injury misfortune at Anfield.

The likes of Giovanni Leoni, Hugo Ekitike and Conor Bradley have yet to feature under him.

Additionally, Dom Szoboszlai, Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo are currently injured, while Wataru Endo, Federico Chiesa, Jeremie Frimpong and Joe Gomez have also missed games this season, among others.

With games coming thick and fast, the Reds could do well with a run of games without any big injuries,

And now, Iraola has confirmed that both Bradley and Ekitike are making good progress.

Conor Bradley and Hugo Ekitike close to Liverpool return

Bradley suffered a knee injury against Arsenal in January and hasn’t played for the club since.

As for Ekitike, he ruptured his Achilles tendon vs PSG in April and also ended up missing the 2026 FIFA World Cup with France.

Iraola feels Bradley is closer to returning than the Frenchman as he continues to do gym work at the AXA Training Centre.

“They are both doing very well,” Iraola said via the Liverpool Echo.

“I think they are in a good place. Conor is not so far from training with the group – not like full training but doing some things with the group.

“Hugo is a little bit behind that but that was always the plan. He is still doing very well according to the plan.”

Liverpool will err on the side of caution with the pair as they could do well with them in the team during the second half of the season.
