‘Over £100m’ – Fabrizio Romano confirms massive Liverpool transfer news

Liverpool are expected to make a handful of signings during the upcoming transfer windows under Andoni Iraola.

The arrival of Julian Ward as sporting director is good news as the Englishman knows the club inside out, so he won’t waste any time in drawing up suitable candidates to strengthen the squad.

Liverpool’s interest in Alex Scott is well documented, with the Englishman enjoying a fantastic working relationship with Iraola.

And now, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Scott could leave Bournemouth in January.

Liverpool target Alex Scott could leave in January

Scott’s current deal expires in 2028 and he has already rejected several offers from the Cherries.

After rejecting all offers for him in the summer, Romano has confirmed that Bournemouth are now open to cashing in on him in 2027 as they don’t want to lose him for free a year later.

He wrote on X: “Alex Scott could leave Bournemouth in January in case of a big proposal.

“The stance has changed after a meeting with agents, as Bournemouth rejected all the proposals in the summer.

“Chelsea are still involved. Liverpool were also keen in July. Price tag expected to be over £100m, as the BBC reports.”

One obvious hurdle is the fee, which is an enormous amount despite Scott’s quality. Chelsea’s interest is also another problem for Liverpool, so if they want the Englishman, they need to make a move for him in the coming months.
