Liverpool youngster Curtis Jones was back in training on Thursday afternoon at the Reds’ new state of the art centre at Kirkby.
The 20-year-old has missed three recent matches with a calf problem but was back amongst the first-team ahead of the weekend’s visit from Newcastle United at Anfield.
Jones has enjoyed a meteoric rise in Jurgen Klopp’s plans this season, gaining more exposure than perhaps was planned due to injuries and recognised central midfielders filling in defensively.
The additional minutes have seen the Scouser grow in confidence, new-found confidence that was evident on Instagram when the attacking midfielder teased superstar Mohamed Salah.
Challenging the Egyptian to a shooting competition, Jones teased that beating the Reds’ top marksman was ‘never easy’ before following the story with the winning moment accompanied by a trophy emoji and laughing faces

Klopp will need Jones and Salah to be both firing on all cylinders for the final six games of the campaign as the German boss looks to steer his side to a valuable top-four finish.

Jones has more than earned a spot in Klopp’s plans this term, coming up with big moments both in the Premier League and Champions League.
Touted as a future star whilst captaining the club through the youth ranks, he has certainly shown glimpses of undoubted quality during his senior career.
