Liverpool have reportedly ‘entered the race’ to sign FC Dallas wonderkid Ricardo Pepi.
The Reds have been named alongside Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Borussia Dortmund and Ajax as the potential suitors but there may already be an agreement in place.
German Bundesliga side Wolfsburg are already believed to have agreed to personal terms with the 18-year-old centre-forward.
However, a report from CBS Sports, as cited by Roger Gonzalez on Twitter has claimed the American teenager is on the radar at Anfield.
The report states that Pepi is in line to become the ‘most expensive’ American export after the USA international told Dallas of his intentions to leave.
Born in El Paso, Texas, Pepi represented Mexico at the Under 16 level before switching allegiances and directly contributing to five goals in just four senior outings on the senior stage.
So far this season the teenager described as ‘absolutely lethal’ by Landon Donovan has scored 13 goals and registered two assists in 27 MLS appearances.

Valued at £2.25million and under contract until 2026 (Transfermarkt), any deal for Pepi would be a relatively lucrative one.
Dallas are believed to want between £8-11million for their teen starlet with strong finishing ability.
Under American ownership there has often been a belief that a statement signing would one day arrive from across the pond – Pepi could be that arrival.
Moreover, Jurgen Klopp will be looking to revolutionise the frontline over the coming months and a talented striker could be part of the restructure.
