Liverpool have once again been linked with a move for Sporting CP playmaker Pedro Goncalves.
The Reds were initially credited with an interest in the 23-year-old during the summer transfer window and are believed to retain an admiration.
Despite recently signing a new contract with the Portuguese giants, Liverpool remain in contention to bring the star to the Premier League.
That’s according to a report from Record, as cited by Total Football Center on Twitter.
The report claims that the Reds would need to activate a new £67.5million release clause in order to land the twice capped Portugal ace.
So far this season, the man who is known simply as Pote, has scored four times and provided one assist in 10 appearances across all competitions.
Described as ‘outstanding’ by Rob Edwards during his spell with Wolves, the 2020/21 Liga Nos top goalscorer has earned a 7.37 average Sofascore rating this term.

Signing additional attacking options could be a priority as soon as January when Jurgen Klopp looks set to lose Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane to the African Cup of Nations for a prolonged period.
Despite being moved out to the wing this season, previously Pote has predominantly operated from central attacking positions and would offer excellent versatility to the Anfield squad.
Valued at £22.5million and under contract in Portugal until 2026 (Transfermarkt), Liverpool would have to go against their own principles to pay the mooted release clause in the winter.
