Virals: Manchester United sweating on four injury doubts ahead of Liverpool

Liverpool could be handed a boost ahead of their clash with arch-rivals Manchester United.

Both clubs were involved in enthralling UEFA Champions League encounters in midweek as both edged out their opponents 3-2.

However, it would appear that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been left with greater concerns following their victory over Atalanta.

According to a report from The Manchester Evening News, United are now sweating on the fitness of as many as four-star players.

Anthony Martial, Fred and Marcus Rashford would appear to face a race against time to be ready, whilst Raphael Varane has been ruled out.

Meanwhile, Reds’ boss Jurgen Klopp left Madrid with an apparent clean bill of health and will be hoping to welcome Curtis Jones back to the fold for the trip to Old Trafford.

Cultured midfielder Thiago seems unlikely to feature however as the Spaniard continues to recover from a calf problem.

Going into a game of this magnitude, Liverpool will take any small bonus they can get.

Although based on the respective recent form the Reds should be strong favourites for the encounter, all too often Klopp’s sides have struggled to perform to their optimum in their rival’s home stadium.

Rashford’s absence would be a particular blow for the hosts as the English winger would likely have been a huge threat in-behind the marauding Trent Alexander-Arnold.

It would appear the biggest headache facing Klopp could be over who to start alongside Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
