Virals: Report names five potential Liverpool summer transfer targets

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp cut a delighted figure as the Reds returned to a near-capacity crowd at Anfield on Sunday.

Despite seemingly losing Andy Robertson for a prolonged period due to an ankle injury, the German boss was positive following a 1-1 draw with Athletic Bilbao.

Having already signed 22-year-old ace Ibrahima Konate, the arrivals door has been quiet during the ongoing summer transfer window.

That could still change in the remaining weeks however as a report from Goal, as cited by LFC Transfer Room on Twitter, claims that the club are casting an eye on no less than five players.

The report also names Lille forward Jonathan David and 34 times capped Senegal winger Ismaila Sarr as those on the radar.

All of the aforementioned names have been involved in speculation linking them with a Liverpool switch this summer, although the report does more or less rule out moves for Saul, Renato Sanches and Federico Chiesa.

Often the club to complete the most understated business in recent windows, Kopites will be hoping a summer in a similar mould to last will come to fruition.

The departure of Gini WIjnaldum and a complete loss of form in Divock Origi make a midfield addition and another attacking option essential incomings.

In need of further homegrown players to meet Premier League requirements, signing either Bowen or Barnes would tick boxes as well as adding to the firepower at Klopp’s disposal.

As for a midfielder, perhaps further squad sales can free up space for the likes of Neuhaus or Bissouma.
