West Ham are reportedly set to approach Liverpool regarding a deal for attacking midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri, according to the Metro, cited by the Daily Post.
Swiss international Shaqiri moved to Anfield in a £13.5m deal last summer following Stoke City’s relegation to the Championship and made a positive start to life on Merseyside with six goals before the turn of the year.
However, his game time was much more limited in the second half of the season due to a drop in form and Divock Origi was preferred as the back-up option to the front three of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

And according to the report, Manuel Pellegrini is said to be interested in taking the 27-year-old to the London Stadium this summer.
The report suggests the Hammers would pay the £22.5m price tag Liverpool have placed on the former Bayern Munich man, who may be tempted by a move in order to gain more playing opportunities.
Shaqiri did turn down an offer from West Ham last year in favour of a move to Anfield, so whether he would entertain their potential offer less than twelve months later remains to be seen.
West Ham are looking to build on a strong end to the 2018/19 season by investing in the squad to ensure of further progress, and have already seen an £18m bid for Barcelona’s Andre Gomes turned down this week.
