Why Liverpool should make a move for Paulo Dybala

As reported in The Daily Mail, Juventus are willing to let Paulo Dybala leave this summer if a club comes in with a bid somewhere in the region of for between £80 million.

Liverpool were linked with a move for the Argentinian star earlier this year and with the asking price now set, the Reds really should make a move for him.

Cast your mind back 12 months and you’ll remember that Jurgen Klopp wanted to sign Nabil Fekir, but when that deal collapsed, there was no replacement lined up. The fact that the Reds wanted Fekir is proof that the powers-that-be at Anfield thought there was a gap in the squad and as of yet, nobody has filled it.

Aged 25, Dybala is about to come into his peak and if Liverpool signed the Argentine, they’ll likely get him when he’s at his best.

He can play as a number ten, on the flanks or even as an auxiliary centre forward and would provide greater strength in depth in Liverpool’s forward line.

The Reds have a very busy schedule coming up this season and relying on the front three of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah to be fit and firing for the entire campaign is a huge risk, whilst the drop off in quality to the current backups is pretty significant.

Signing Dybala for what is actually a reasonable price in this era could solve the depth issues and in truth, it looks like a no-brainer move.
