Liverpool are confident that youngster Yasser Larouci has avoided a serious injury following the horror tackle from Joris Gnagnon during the recent friendly with Sevilla.
The London Evening Standard reports that the Reds are ‘optimistic’ that the player’s injury is not too serious.
It had been feared that the player could be facing months on the sidelines, but the report claims that in fact, the club now believe it could just be weeks instead, something that will come as a major boost to the player’s development.
The player was forced off on a stretcher after being on the receiving end of a swiping challenge from the French defender.

Gnagnon was sent off as a result and has since apologised to the player and Liverpool for the incident.
Clips of the tackle dominated social media in the wake of the game, with many incensed by the nature of the challenge.
