Curtis Jones is reportedly reluctant to entertain Nottingham Forest’s interest, giving Liverpool a significant boost in a summer already shaped by difficult homegrown calls.
According to This Is Anfield, citing Liverpool Echo reporter Ian Doyle, Forest are keen on the 25-year-old midfielder but Jones is understood to be unconvinced by the move.
That stance matters because he has entered the final year of his Liverpool contract and has already been the subject of unsuccessful Inter Milan interest.

Forest’s interest comes after their agreement to sell Elliot Anderson to Manchester City, but their managerial uncertainty weakens the pitch. Fabrizio Romano has reported that Vitor Pereira could leave amid Al-Hilal interest, leaving a fragile backdrop for any ambitious recruitment push.
For Liverpool, the decision is not simply financial. Jones remains one of the few academy-raised senior players capable of covering multiple midfield roles, and Andoni Iraola’s pressing demands should, in theory, suit his intensity and ball-carrying.
The awkward part is the contract clock. Liverpool cannot allow another valuable first-team asset to drift toward 2027 without clarity, but Jones’ reluctance over Forest gives the club time to revisit extension talks once pre-season begins.
If Inter return with a serious offer, the conversation changes. For now, Forest’s interest looks more like leverage than destination inside the wider Liverpool transfer picture.
