Liverpool winger Shaqiri linked with Galatasaray loan move
Liverpool winger Xherdan Shaqiri has been linked with a loan exit to Turkish giants Galatasaray ahead of the January transfer window.
The Reds completed a deal for Shaqiri only during the summer transfer window, as they were able to fend off competition from elsewhere to sign the player from Stoke City in a £13 million deal.
Shaqiri has caught the eye with some cameo appearances for Liverpool this season but has yet to nail down a place in Jurgen Klopp’s starting line-up.
The Switzerland international was recruited to add further quality in depth to Liverpool’s pool of attacking options, with Klopp having eyed wide options to deputise for Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah when necessary.
Nevertheless, according to claims from TMW, Shaqiri is already being lined up for a January loan exit, with Galatasaray interested in securing his services.
Liverpool are unlikely to be keen on parting ways with Shaqiri in the near future given the need for depth this season, but it seems the former Bayern Munich star is hot property ahead of the January transfer window.
