Besiktas want to sign Loris Karius on a permanent deal
Turkish giants Besiktas want to sign Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius on a permanent deal, according to a report on Sky Sports.
The goalkeeper joined Besiktas on a two-year loan deal from Liverpool but they are eager to sign him permanently.
The 25-year-old has made a mixed start to life in Turkey but Besiktas president Fikret Orman believes he is a top-class goalkeeper.
Reports surfaced last month that Besiktas were preparing to send Karius back to Merseyside in January after he made a few mistakes but Orman has brushed those reports aside.
He said:
Karius is an excellent keeper, God willing we will sign him on a permanent transfer.
Give Karius some time is all I’m saying. Karius has a lot of work to do but give him time.
Liverpool replaced the German international with Brazilian Alisson Becker, who has settled in well at the club.
Besiktas are currently in seventh place in the Turkish Super Lig, nine points away from leaders Istanbul Basaksehir.
