Derby County boss Frank Lampard has confirmed that Liverpool have the option to recall young winger Harry Wilson in January.
As reported by Derbyshire Live, Lampard revealed that the Welsh international could well return to Anfield in the new year.
There is an element where Liverpool can call him back in early January. That is a conversation between the clubs. Liverpool run a fantastic department in terms of looking after their loans players. We have a lot of chat with them. We will just have to see how that goes.
Wilson has been one of Lampard’s star performers as the Rams push for promotion to the Premier League this season.
The winger has caught the eye with several stunning goals, including a long-range free-kick against Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Carabao Cup.
Following the impressive form of both Wilson and Chelsea loanee Mason Mount, concerns have been raised about the prospect of Derby losing the two players during the January window.
It is yet to be seen if Liverpool have any interest in bringing the player back to the club in January given that he joined the Rams on a season-long loan.
Jurgen Klopp may decide that keeping the player at Derby, playing regularly, may be best for his development.
