Liverpool have recalled Ben Woodburn from his loan spell at Sheffield United, according to Goal.
The 19-year-old has suffered a disappointing time of things at Bramall Lane this season, making just one Championship start for the promotion hopefuls.
The Reds are believed to be “ready to take their time before making a decision over the future of the teenager”, in terms of his next step.
Woodburn returned to Melwood last month after suffering an ankle injury, but he is now back at Liverpool permanently.
While the youngster’s Wales teammate Harry Wilson has flourished at Derby County on loan from the Reds, he struggled to make an impact from day one.
It is important that Woodburn’s career doesn’t peter out at this point, with so much potential in his boots.
He became Liverpool’s youngest-ever goalscorer back in November 2016, netting against Leeds at the age of just 17.
No official announcement about the termination of Woodburn’s loan deal has been made yet, but he won’t be returning to Sheffield.
The teenager will be back in full training next week, but a host of Championship clubs are showing an interest in another loan move, including Blackburn Rovers, Brentford and Hull City.
