Brighton and Hove Albion boss Chris Hughton believes Saturday’s opponents Liverpool have got what it takes to go on and win the Premier League this season.
As reported by The Liverpool Echo, Hughton praised Reds manager Jurgen Klopp, claiming that he has done “an outstanding job” at Anfield.
Liverpool head into this fixture winless in their last two games after losing to Manchester City and being knocked out of the FA Cup away at Wolverhampton Wanderers at the third-round stage.
However, the Reds have a four-point advantage at the top of the Premier League table, which Hughton feels makes them favourites. He said:
At this moment, I think they are favourites simply because of the points difference, and I think they’ve been outstanding.
Brighton, on the other hand, are unbeaten in their last four and have a good record at home this season, most recently holding Arsenal to a draw and defeating Everton 1-0.
Things won’t be easy for Liverpool when they visit the South Coast this weekend, but they will be desperate to clinch a much-needed win at the Amex Stadium.
