Jordan Henderson says rival supporters booing Mohamed Salah will only “make him better”, following recent criticism.
Salah has been accused of going down too easily in the last month or so, winning three separate penalties for the Reds.
Henderson has almost urged the negativity to continue, however, telling the Mirror that it will only spur his teammate on:
If they do that, they will make him better. It won’t bother him. That’s the mentality he’s got. He’s so strong, I know he is.
The more people are against him, the more he will want to prove them wrong. I’m not worried about that.
When he goes to away grounds, people should appreciate him. He will do things that people want to see.
In truth, all of the penalties Salah has been awarded have arguably been fouls, making the current situation a little bizarre.
He possesses an elite mentality, however, as Henderson alludes to, and he will continue to be inspired by this treatment.
Salah leads the way in the Premier League scoring charts this season, along with Harry Kane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
