Liverpool are set to sign Billy Koumetio from US Orleans Loiret, according to the Daily Mail.
The 16-year-old is believed to have arrived in England this week to complete the deal.
Koumetio had a trial at Liverpool back in November, clearly impressing those at the club.
The left-sided defender played for Lyon prior to his move to Loiret at the age of 11.
Koumetio will go straight into the Reds’ academy in Kirkby, as he looks to become the latest youngster to make the grade.
It is an exciting time to play for Liverpool’s youth teams, especially the U18s and U23s.
Jurgen Klopp is a keen advocate of youth, always willing to give youngsters a chance if they impress him enough.
Rafa Camacho, Ki-Jana Hoever and Curtis Jones all made their Liverpool debuts in the FA Cup defeat at Wolves earlier this month.
Koumetio will hope to be given the same honour eventually, as he looks to hit the ground running at his new club.
