Former Liverpool and England striker Emile Heskey believes that Mohamed Salah may leave the club this Summer if the Reds do not win the League.
Salah has been outstanding since joining Liverpool in the 2017 transfer window and was heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid after LFC’s Champions League final defeat last summer and Heskey claims that Liverpool may struggle to keep hold of the Egyptian if Jurgen Klopp’s side do not win the league this year.
West Ham prevented Liverpool from creating a five-point gap between themselves and Champions Manchester City as the Hammers held the Reds to a 1-1 draw at the London Stadium last night and speaking to Express Sport (via TeamTalk) after the game, Heskey suggested star players may leave the club this Summer if they miss the chance of claiming their first Premier League title this season.
There’s always that risk [that Salah may want to leave].

Despite saying this, the former England international thinks that there are also many ‘pull factors’ that can ensure the Reds keep hold of their key players.
The relationship between the players and the Liverpool fans is such that they always want to give the league another go. I’m not saying that they [Salah, Firmino and Mane] wouldn’t go, but there is plenty of reason for them to stay.
After last night’s disappointing result, Liverpool are three points ahead of Manchester City, but the Citizens have the chance to go top on Wednesday night when they play Liverpool’s Merseyside rivals, Everton.
With thirteen Premier League Matchday’s left this season, it looks like an intriguing title race that may not be decided until the final day.
