Jamie Carragher believes something “doesn’t feel right” at Liverpool after back-to-back draws in the Premier League.
The Reds could only get a point at West Ham on Monday evening, drawing 1-1 and never coming close to finding their best form at the London Stadium.
Injuries are beginning to pile up and a tired-looking display is worrying, considering the squad only recently returned from a training camp in Dubai.
Speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, Carragher criticised Jurgen Klopp’s decision to sell Nathaniel Clyne on loan and bemoaned the current level of performance:
It was a really poor performance. So many players performed so poorly. The manager is clearly frustrated.
What’s hurting Liverpool is the squad. Look at the right back situation. Klopp has made a big mistake letting Clyne go. You don’t need to let him go, keep him there.
Milner playing at right back, he looks completely out of position. Keita doesn’t look quite right. Mane is not his normal self. We didn’t see Salah tonight.
Liverpool are not a solid team right now. It doesn’t feel right.
It is certainly a concerning time for Liverpool, despite the fact they sit three points clear at the top of the Premier League.
Their level has dipped noticeably in recent weeks and they will have to up their game if they are to clinch glory in May.
That needs to start on Saturday afternoon, when a dangerous Bournemouth side make the trip to Anfield.
