Robben set to miss out on Liverpool clash
Liverpool have been given a boost ahead of their Champions League clash with Bayern Munich, as Arjen Robben is set to miss both legs.
According to Bild, via Sport Witness, Robben is poised to be out injured for both of the ties as Liverpool and Bayern look to progress through to the quarter-finals of the competition.
Robben has not made a first-team appearance for Bayern since November due to a thigh injury, but the report claims that he was expected to be back for this last 16 clash.
However, he has suffered a number of set-backs and is now set to be absent as Bayern travel to Anfield next Tuesday.
Speaking to Bild, Bayern doctor Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt said this:
It’s still not good. We try everything, but at the moment it is not so good. Unfortunately, that’s exactly the problem, that they do not know exactly what it is. It’s really difficult.
The 35-year-old, Robben, has scored 143 goals in 305 appearances for Bayern since joining from Real Madrid in 2009.
