Liverpool’s Alison Becker has been brilliant for the Reds this year and his form has been rewarded with the Dubai Globe Soccer Best Goalkeeper award, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.

Alison has beaten fellow Brazilian compatriot Ederson to the Globe Soccer award by three clean sheets. The Liverpool shot-stopper has now been presented with the award after missing the award ceremony that was held back in January.

He has been rewarded for his brilliant performances over the last year for his country, former team Roma and Liverpool.

Alison’s growing reputation has been due to his brilliant shot-stopping ability as well as his distribution of the ball.

His Liverpool career so far has been exceptional. He is currently leading the way in terms of clean sheets, with 17 from the 29 matches he has played so far for the Reds. He has yet to concede a goal in the last 478 minutes of football – if you add in the Bayern stalemate at Anfield.

Alison has no time to celebrate after accepting the reward, he has to keep his head focused. The Reds are embroiled in a tight battle for the Premier League with Manchester City – the slightest slip up could be very costly.

The Brazilian is also in the running to break a Premier League record this year. The record of most clean sheets in a debut season in the Premier League was 20 – held by former Red, Pepe Reina.

He is currently only three clean sheets away from being level with the Liverpool legend – having nine more games to play for in the league.
