Liverpool are set to be handed a major boost with the news that Mohamed Salah will play no part in Egypt’s upcoming international fixtures.
It is something that had been mooted in the past, but that appears to be even more concrete now.
The Daily Mail claims that “Egypt boss Javier Aguirre has decided not call him up and allow him to rest.”
The African outfit face Niger and Nigeria, on March 22nd and March 26th respectively, but the first of those is an African Cup of Nations qualifier with nothing riding on it, and the other is a friendly.
Jurgen Klopp is sure to be delighted with the news, allowing one of his star men to stay fresh during a pivotal point in the season.
Salah should be primed for the Premier League title run-in, as Liverpool look to wrestle their way back ahead of champions Manchester City.
The 26-year-old was off the boil in Sunday’s goalless draw at Everton, missing two huge chances to snatch victory.
The Reds need him back to his best for the weekend visit of Burnley at Anfield.
