Vincent Kompany has continued the mind games with Liverpool, claiming they will win every remaining Premier League fixture this season.
Manchester City players past and present having been weighing in with remarks in recent times, attempting to get under the Reds’ skin as the pressure intensifies all the time.
While the champions have moved a point clear of Liverpool in the title battle, Jurgen Klopp’s side will not go away lightly.
Sunday’s 4-2 win at home to Burnley, which saw them go 1-0 down early on, was proof of that.
Speaking to ESPN, Kompany gave his latest attempt to heap pressure on Liverpool, saying no more dropped points will occur from the title hopefuls:
We couldn’t have asked for more at this stage of the season but we are all convinced that Liverpool will win every single remaining game until the end of the season.
We know how big the task ahead of us is with big games still coming up and difficult games against any team. We’re all relaxed and calm, we’re not getting carried away.
There are eight games remaining this season, in what was promises to be one of the most thrilling run-ins in Premier League history.
It seems unlikely that both sides will finish the campaign with maximum points, with a few tricky outings to come for the pair.
