Gerrard urged to sign Kent permanently at Rangers
Former Rangers midfielder Barry Ferguson has encouraged Steven Gerrard to sign Ryan Kent permanently this summer.
Kent has been one of his side’s star performers this season, having made a loan move from Liverpool last summer.
Blessed with great natural talent and attacking thrust out wide, the youngster has helped Gerrard’s men to second place in the Scottish Premiership.
There have been plenty of rumours suggesting Kent could move to Ibrox on a permanent basis, having scored five goals in 2018/19.
With Liverpool possessing so much world class attacking quality in their ranks, it is hard to see where the 22-year-old would fit in under Jurgen Klopp.
Speaking to the Daily Record, Ferguson says Gerrard should be looking at sealing a deal at the end of the season:
Ryan Kent is another who should stay.
If Gerrard can get him for anywhere between three or four million pounds as has been quoted then that looks like smart business to me.
That kid has proved that he belongs in a Rangers shirt so Gerrard would be buying the tried and tested.
Kent has been one of Liverpool’s best performing loanees this season, taking his game up a notch.
Klopp always thought highly of him at Anfield and a bright future is on the cards.
