King hails Van Dijk as most difficult opponent
Bournemouth forward Joshua King has become the latest in a long line of players to hail Virgil van Dijk, naming him the best player he has ever faced.
The Norway international has scored 11 times in the Premier League this season, but was unable to find the net past Van Dijk in both games the Cherries played against the Reds this campaign.
With King preparing to face Sergio Ramos during the current international break, with Norway taking on Spain in their Euro 2020 qualification campaign opener, King explained how he is looking forward to testing the Spaniard’s physicality.
However, the former Manchester United and Blackburn Rovers man admitted that the Real Madrid veteran doesn’t stack up to Van Dijk, with the Dutchman the strongest player he has come across.
Talking to TV2, as cited by Liverpool Echo, King said:
Yes, Van Dijk. He’s the only one. Van Djik is the strongest and best I have ever met.
