Virgil van Dijk and Georginio Wijnaldum both found the back of the net in the Netherlands’ 4-0 victory over Belarus.
Ronald Koeman’s side comfortably saw off their opponents on Thursday evening, in their opening Euro 2020 qualifier.
Van Dijk and Wijnaldum, two increasingly key figures in the Holland team, both started proceedings.
Not only that, but they scored on a convincing night, with Wijnaldum making it 2-0 after bursting through the midfield.
He also won a penalty that Memphis Depay dispatched, before Van Dijk put the icing on cake late on, sealing a 4-0 victory with a close-range header.
It was a productive evening at the office for the Reds pair, who have been outstanding performers this season.
Van Dijk is the front-runner for various end-of-season awards, while Wijnaldum’s displays in Liverpool’s midfield have stood out from any of his teammates.
Jurgen Klopp will be relieved that they both came through the match unscathed – they play Germany on Sunday.
